A Bittersweet Transition: From Bandarlampung to Yogyakarta
After 15.5 years of dedicated service at UPBJJ UT Bandarlampung, I’ve made the decision to move to UPBJJ UT Yogyakarta. This announcement came as a sudden surprise, leaving me unprepared for the change.
The news of the transfer caught me off guard, as I had settled comfortably in Bandarlampung, both professionally and personally. I had built a strong support system, forged meaningful relationships with my colleagues, and found a sense of belonging in the local community. The thought of leaving all of that behind was daunting.
However, I recognized the opportunity this move presented. Yogyakarta, with its rich cultural heritage and vibrant academic landscape, offered a fresh start and the chance to grow both personally and professionally. Despite the initial shock, I knew I had to embrace this new challenge.
To ensure a smooth transition, I decided to take a paid leave to arrange everything. This gave me the much-needed time to handle the logistics of the move, including renting out my house in Bandarlampung to ensure it was regularly cleaned and maintained in my absence. I wanted to make sure that my personal affairs were in order before embarking on this new journey.
While I’m overjoyed to be moving closer to my hometown, I can’t help but feel a tinge of sadness at leaving my colleagues behind. The bonds we’ve forged over the years are strong, and the thought of departing from this familiar environment is bittersweet. I will miss the camaraderie, the shared experiences, and the collaborative efforts that have defined my time at UPBJJ UT Bandarlampung.
Nevertheless, I’m ready to take on this new chapter with enthusiasm and dedication. I’m eager to bring my expertise and experience to UPBJJ UT Yogyakarta, and I’m confident that I’ll be able to make a positive impact in my new role. The opportunity to work in a different setting, surrounded by new faces and fresh perspectives, is both exciting and challenging.
As I embark on this journey, I ask for your well wishes and support. I’m excited to see what the future holds, and I’m determined to give my all in this new endeavor. While the transition may not be easy, I’m committed to making the most of this opportunity and embracing the changes that lie ahead.
