Questions and approach
My experimental work examines plant extracts against bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus. I am interested in more than growth inhibition: my published studies also investigate biofilm formation and processes that help bacteria persist.
In studies of Sansevieria trifasciata extracts with my coauthors, we examined antibacterial and antibiofilm activity, protease activity, and quorum-sensing gene expression. These experiments connect chemical characterization with microbiological assays.
